You're Never Alone...: A Child of Divorce Searches for Happiness - Philip Nork First off, I won my copy of this book via a giveaway hosted by Goodreads.

I was curious about this book for several reasons. I was raised by my grandparents and although I saw my mother regularly, I didn't know my father until I had graduated high school, dropped out of college and laid both of my maternal grandparents to rest. I wondered what it would be like on the other side of the coin. Granted, the time period in which Philip Nork grew up is different than the one in which I grew up, but as he states in various places throughout his novel some things are universal from person to person, gender to gender, no matter what age or where we are. I don't believe I'm quoting this for exact words but "we all want to feel loved and accepted for who we are." Is that not the truth of things? No matter our journey or our destination, we seek acceptance and love throughout. Some only chase poor substitutes of each, while others yearn and strive for the truest form of both. Philip Nork's account in this novel is definitely worth a read no matter how you grew up or are still growing up.
